Harry Colt’s Portrait
Harry Colt’s Portrait was based on a black and white sketch that you can see below. This oil portrait was commissioned by Betchworth Park Golf Club, which was celebrating its Centenary. To mark the occasion, following the Club’s AGM in March, an oil portrait of the course designer, Harry Colt, was presented to the Club by Barry Thomson, a Club Director.
As you can see we have portrait artists who can skillfully work from black and white photographs and turn them into beautiful colour oil portraits. We do appreciate your input and if you could show us the colours that you would like us to use that would be a great help.
All of our portraits from photos are hand painted onto a duck cotton canvas using premium Winsor & Newton oils. Gift vouchers are also available.
About Black and White to Colour Portraits
Why people come to us for this service…….
Our Portrait Artists know how to paint you a beautiful oil portrait of your ancestors from black and white photos. We have experience in studying old faded photos, or black and white photographs and visualising what they would like in colour. Portraits from Photos is passionate about immortalising your family in oils (however far back in time!). These portraits allow emotions, personalities and sentiments to shine through – creating memories that will last a lifetime.
You might have an old faded photograph of one of your ancestors and would love to commission an oil portrait of them. Alternatively, you may wish to commission portraits of historical figures that have stayed or have lived in your property. Please contact us with any ideas you may have, we’d love to help!
Our experience shows that period properties, which have undergone extensive renovation work do tend to find themselves with a shortage of appropriate artwork. This can be for a number of reasons, however some of our best and most satisfying work has been assisting the owners of these properties to recreate the past in a sympathetic authentic manner.
